Chocolately & Salty Coconut Squares

These squares can be popular event dessert that can be flavored in a variety ways. Here the coconut square tastes peanut butter and coconut which also gives the right crumbly and soft consistency. You can top with chocolate sauce and pecan nuts  if desired.


1 cup coconut flakes,
1/2 cup peanut butter without sugar,
2 tbsp coconut oil,
2 tbsp maple syrup,
1 tsp vanilla powder,
1/2 tsp salt,
A handful of pecan nuts (optional)

Chocolate layer: (if desired)

4 tbsp vegan nutella,
2 tbsp coconut oil,
2 tbsp coconut plant based milk.


1. Roast coconut flakes in a frying pan while stirring on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Save some coconut to decorate.

2. Place all ingredients in a food processor, mix on high until completely smooth mixture.

3. Pour mixture into a pan.

( if you make chocolate layer, place all layer ingredients in a food processor mix on high until smooth, pour over the peanut layer.)

4. Sprinkle remaining coconut over the mixture. Add a handful of pecan nuts.

5. Place in a refrigerator for 35-40 minutes until shaped.

6.  Remove fudge from the fridge, if when it is shaped, cut in squares with a sharp knife.

Note: Keep in mind that the fudge becomes soft after standing for a while at room temperature.
