Aloe Vera Subzi


4-5 big leaves of aloe vera,

1 small onion chopped,

1 jalapeno minced,

1 tsp garlic powder,

1 tbsp soy sauce,

1 tbsp olive oil,

1 tsp cardemom,

1 purple pepper chopped,

1/2 black pepper,

1/2 tbsp sesame seeds,

1/2 bunch of parsley,

1/2 tsp salt.

For decorating:

1 tbsp remoulade sauce,

1 tsp djon mustard,

1 tsp mustard seeds,

4-5 Fresh mint leaves,

1 tsp sesame seeds,

1 dsp beetroot paste,

1 slice of corn wafer.


1. Peel the sides of aloe vera steam to remove the thorns. Chop aloe vera leaves into small pieces.

2. In a large pan, mix aloe vera pieces, chopped onions, garlic powder, chopped purple pepper, parsley, jalapeno, soy sauce and olive oil. Stir and cook on medium heat until they are caramelized well.

3. Then add black pepper, cardemom, sesame and salt.

4. Place a slice of corn wafer into the plate. Using a tablespoon, put aloe vera subzi on top of corn wafer.

5. Add 1 tsp beetroot paste on top of aloe vera subzi. Decorate with sesame seeds and mint leaves.

6. Place 1 tbsp remoulade sauce next to the subzi and add mustard on top of it. Decorate with mustard seeds.

7. Serve hot or cold. ( You can also serve it with rice or as a appetizer.)
